FROM THE VIEW OF THE CUB SCOUT

First, he is grouped with other boys in the same grade and forms what is called a den. Each den has a rank based on the grade of the boys. All first graders are in a Tiger den, second graders are in a Wolf den, third graders are in a Bear den, fourth graders are in a Webelos I den and fifth graders are in a Webelos II den. If there are enough boys at a specific grade level, two or more dens may be formed instead of one large den. At Pack 3024 we attempt to keep a den between 6 and 12 boys.

All of the dens combine to form a Pack. Packs usually are made of dens with boys from one or two schools. The main schools that we draw from in Pack 3024 are Gilkey and Starr Elementary. However, we do have some boys in our Pack that go to St Margaret's in Otsego, and Brandin Elementary in Martin.

All of the Packs in Allegan and Ottewa counties form a District. Our District is now called the Lakeshore District.

There are three more districts in our area and together we form a council which is based in Grand Rapids and is known as the Gerald R Ford Council.
